Diddy Combs’ ex asked the judge to release the musician
Virginia Huynh was supposed to testify in the trial against the rapper but did not attend court after the prosecution announced it had lost contact with her and her lawyer.

Diddy Combs reacts to the verdict
The "Victim-3" in the case against Sean “Diddy” Combs wrote a letter to the court asking for the rapper and producer to be released. The request was included by the defense team in a new bid for bail, previously denied by the judge after citing Combs' history of violent relationships.
Virginia “Gina” Huynh, first identified by name, argued in Sunday's filing that while her ex-boyfriend Diddy "was not always perfect," he was "willing to acknowledge his mistakes and make better decisions in the future."
"By the time our relationship ended, he embodied an energy of love, patience and gentleness that was markedly different from his past behavior," she also wrote in the letter reported by CNN. "To my knowledge, he has not been violent for many years, and he has been committed to being a father first," she also said, before adding that she did not consider him "a danger to me or to the community."
"This is his first criminal case. Throughout the investigation and proceedings he has been cooperative, respectful and compliant. He has substantial ties to his family and community, including children who depend on him for emotional and financial support. Granting him bond would allow him to continue caring for his family and fulfilling his responsibilities while still subject to the Court’s supervision," she further argued in her letter, which was quoted by Variety.
Huynh was part of the prosecution's witness list. However, days before the trial, prosecutors claimed they had lost contact with the witness and her lawyer. In the end, she did not testify. According to CNN, during the two-month trial, Combs' ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura claimed that during her 11-year relationship with Combs he was also seeing Gina.
Combs was convicted of two counts of transportation for the purpose of prostitution but was acquitted of charges of human trafficking for the purpose of prostitution.
