Mexico requests the immediate deportation of its nationals detained in ICE centers amid accusations of mistreatment of inmates
The request from Mexico was received this Tuesday, a day after the NGO Human Rights Watch (HRW) published a report on alleged abuses and degrading treatment against inmates in three Florida detention centers.

Mexico's President Claudia Sheinbaum.
The Mexican government asked the Trump Administration for the immediate deportation of Mexican citizens who are sent to detention centers such as Guantanamo and other prisons, where inhumane treatment of immigrant detainees has been reported.
The request from Mexico was received Tuesday, a day after the NGO Human Rights Watch (HRW) published a report on alleged abuses and degrading treatment in three detention centers in Florida, where numerous undocumented foreigners are being held after massive government raids.
"The (Mexican) consulate is seeing if there are human rights violations. If so, then the protocol that must be followed is being followed. But what we have requested is that they (the detainees) be deported immediately so they can be repatriated," Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said during her morning press conference.
In the testimonies collected by HRW, migrants denounce having been treated "like animals" and subjected to humiliations such as being handcuffed for long periods "without food, water, or bathrooms."
The leftist leader said that there are 14 Mexican citizens imprisoned in these detention centers, although she did not specify whether they are in the military prison of Guantanamo, in Cuba, or in any of the three prisons in Florida.
So far, the Trump Administration has not responded to Sheinbaum's request.
