CIA KILLS AL-QAEDA LEADER IN DRONE STRIKE
Ayman al-Zawahiri had been at the head of the terrorist organization since the death of its founder, Osama Bin Laden.
A senior administration official told Fox News that this weekend "a counterterrorism operation was conducted against a significant al-Qaeda target in Afghanistan". The target was reportedly none other than Egypt's Ayman al-Zawahiri, 71, the leader of the Islamist terrorist network since a Navy Seal commando shot down its founder, Saudi Osama bin Laden, in Abbottabad, Pakistan, on May 2, 2011.
"The operation was successful and there were no civilian casualties," added Fox's source.
Al-Zawahiri, also known as The Doctor, was bin Laden's physician and right-hand man. He was considered the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, the worst terrorist attacks in U.S. history, in which nearly 3,000 people were killed. The FBI offered 25 million dollars for information leading to his capture.
"Justice has been delivered"
Shortly after the news broke, President Joe Biden posted this tweet in which he claimed direct responsibility for the operation and proclaimed, "Justice has been delivered."
