Thousands of people gathered Thursday at Colorado State University's soccer stadium to pay tribute to Charlie Kirk. The university was the venue chosen by the conservative activist to deliver the second event of his The American Comeback Tour.

About 7,500 people attended a vigil organized by Turning Point USA, the nonprofit organization Kirk founded in 2012, to remember the conservative activist, killed on Sept. 10 while hosting an event at Utah Valley University.

At the stadium, a stage was set up next to several posters with images of Kirk and bouquets of flowers. Several personalities, all close to Turning Point USA, were able to offer a few words to remember the conservative activist.

"For so long, conservatives and Christians on college campuses were told to be quiet. But Charlie gave us our voice to stand up for what we believe in," said Gabe Saint, president of Turning Point USA's Wyoming chapter.

The American Comeback Tour began at Utah Valley University, the site where Charlie Kirk was allegedly killed by Tyler Robinson from a gunshot wound to the neck. The defendant is incarcerated while awaiting trial.
