'Fría': Enrique Iglesias releases new single after announcing his retirement
The song was made in collaboration with Yotuel, who also made the song “Patria y Vida.” The new single reminds listeners of the rhythm of the Spanish artist's past hits.
Enrique Iglesias returns strongly. Days before the start of one of the most important celebrations in the world, Carnival, the Spanish artist and Floridian resident released his latest single Friday, “Fría,” featuring Cuban rapper Yotuel, famous for his song “Patria y Vida,” a musical success that became a protest anthem against the Castro regime.
“Fría” shares the essence and rhythm of other songs by the Spanish artist, such as “Bailando,” a hit released in 2014 which featured Gente de Zona and Descemer Bueno, and “El Perdón,” a song co-produced with Puerto Rican artist Nicky Jam in 2015. Click here to see the video clip of “Fría.”
The release of “Fría” also occurs just ahead of Enrique Iglesias’ album, “Final: Vol. 2,” the last album he will release. It will culminate an extensive artistic career that began in 1995. However, it will not be a full retirement from the world of music, since he will continue to tour and collaborate with other artists who want to make singles with him.
Iglesias sells entire musical catalog
In December, Enrique Iglesias confirmed the sale of his complete discography. The company Influence Media Partners bought all the musical and image rights of the Spanish artist for more than $100 million.
The acquisition represents a turning point for the company specialized in the world of entertainment. "Enrique is a global icon and having him as a part of our Influence Media family is a game-changing moment for us," said Lylette Pizzaro, founder of the company.
