The Oscar race has begun. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has just announced the nominees for the 96th edition of the Oscars at a press event hosted by the actress Zazie Beetz ("Atlanta," "Deadpool 2") and actor Jack Quaid ("The Boys," "Scream") that took place at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater located in Beverly Hills in Los Angeles.

As with the Golden Globes, Christopher Nolan's feature film, "Oppenheimer," is the favorite, earning a total of 13 nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director categories. What became its sort of sister film, "Barbie," did not go unnoticed. Hispanic representation is also guaranteed in the next edition of the awards. Spanish director Juan Antonio Bayona achieved his first Oscar nomination thanks to his film "Society of the Snow."
