Half of Democratic voters would switch from Biden as presidential candidate
Michelle Obama is the preferred alternative for Blue Party supporters, followed by Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton.
The majority of Democratic voters would approve of Joe Biden not representing their party in the upcoming presidential elections in November. 48% agree with changing the candidate, including 23% who would "strongly approve" of this move. This figure surpasses even those who agree with replacing Biden among GOP voters. The favorite to occupy her position would be Michelle Obama, who has the support of 20% of Blue Party supporters. She is followed by Vice President Kamala Harris and veteran Hillary Clinton, who leads California Governor Gavin Newsom by one point.
According to Rasmussen Reports, 48% of all voters would also favor removing Biden from the race. In this case, there are slightly more (24%) who would do so "strongly." Curiously, independents are the most in favor of making this move, reaching 51% of this group, including 28% who would "strongly approve" of the change.
Hillary over Newsom
The survey proposed five alternative candidates (Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama, Gavin Newsom and the Governor of Michigan, Gretchen Whitmer) who do not seem to convince Democratic voters. In fact, the most voted option was that "none" of them would be "a better presidential candidate than Biden." Given the choice, former first lady Michelle Obama is the favorite for the 20% of respondents who declare themselves supporters of the blue party, followed by Harris (15%). The surprise comes with third place, in which Hillary wins by one point (12% -11% ) over Newsom, one of the considered favorites in most polls.
