North Korean regime, a staunch Putin ally
Vladimir Putin met Wednesday in Beijing with Kim Jong Un, whom he thanked for his support in the "fight against contemporary neo-Nazism" and thanked him for sending troops to fight Ukraine.
North Korea has become one of Russia's main allies since it invaded Ukrainian territory in February 2022 and sent thousands of military personnel and weapons to help Moscow drive Kiev forces out of the Kursk region in western Russia.
"I would like to thank you on behalf of the Russian people for participating together in the fight against contemporary neo-Nazism," Putin said at the start of the meeting in the Chinese capital.
