The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) intercepted a general aviation aircraft that violated a temporary flight restriction (TFR) over Bedminster, N.J.

The civilian aircraft entered the restricted airspace, which is why a NORAD fighter aircraft fighter safely escorted the aircraft out of the area after using flares to alert the pilot.

This incident was not isolated, as three other TFR violations were reported in the same region over the weekend. One occurred earlier on Saturday, and two additional ones on Sunday morning, totaling four unauthorized entries, as reported by journalist Eric Daugherty on X:

According to the institution, the flares extinguish quickly and pose no danger to those on the ground. It also reminded general aviation pilots of the importance of reviewing the Notices to Airmen (NOTAM) and the Fly Informed program of the Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) before each flight.

In the case of Bedminster, it was urged to specifically consult NOTAMs 2089, 2104, 2127 and 2130, available on the FAA website.
