Kinaya Willis, daughter of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Williswas arrested last month for allegedly driving with a suspended license, according to multiple reports.

Kinaya Willis, 25, was stopped by police in Tyrone, Georgia, on Aug. 24 for driving while using a cell phone.

When asked for her license, officers detected that Willis was also driving with a suspended license.

According to the Daily Mail, the young woman, who is a student at Texas Southern University, is pregnant and told the officer she was using her cell phone behind the wheel "due to her mother calling her related to her pregnancy."

Kinaya Willis also stated that she was unaware that her license had been suspended since May 13.

The tabloid reported that Fani Willis stopped by to secure her daughter's 2010 Nissan Altima after she was pulled over.

Now, the prosecutor's daughter could face a series of punishments for reckless driving. First, Kinaya Willis was booked into the Fayette County Jail for the alleged misdemeanor offense of driving with a revoked or suspended license.

Prior to her release, her mugshot was taken at the correctional facility.

She will now have to appear on Oct. 24 in Tyrone Municipal Court. If convicted, she could face a minimum two-day jail term, a $500 fine, and a six-month reprieve, the Daily Mail reported.

Controversial prosecutor Fani Willis

Kinaya Willis' mother is digesting the indictment in the election meddling case against former President Donald Trump in Georgia. Her case, considered one of the strongest against the Republican candidate, has long been mired in controversy over hiring former special prosecutor Nathan Wade.

The Fani Willis case has been on hiatus since June as the Georgia Court of Appeals weighs the Trump team's effort to disqualify the 52-year-old district attorney for alleged misconduct.

Trump and eight of the co-defendants asked the Georgia appeals court in March to hear their arguments accusing Willis of hiring Wade while they were romantically involved.

While Fulton County Judge Scott McAfee ruled earlier that the prosecutor could stay on the case if Wade resigned, which he did, now the decision is in the hands of an appeals court that will likely hear arguments by December, well after the upcoming Nov. 5 election.

Likewise, prosecutor Willis is facing multiple investigations by state and federal lawmakers into alleged misuse of taxpayer money regarding her relationship with Wade.
