Renowned singer-songwriter Taylor Swift donated a considerable sum of money to the family of Lisa López-Galván, the only person killed in the Kansas City Chiefs victory parade shooting on February 14.

The star made two donations of $50,000 each. She also sent her condolences in a message that said: "Sending my deepest sympathies and condolences in the wake of your devastating loss. With love, Taylor Swift."

Swift's representative confirmed to Variety that the donations were legitimate, and shortly after, the fundraising creator also thanked the singer for her generosity, expressing her surprise and love towards the singer: "The world truly doesn’t deserve you. thank you SO much for thinking of kc’s community, i love you."

Swift’s donations were added to the fundraising page. The goal was to raise $75,000 to benefit López-Galván's family, far exceeding the family's initial expectations.

“This fund will help provide vital financial support to her family as they process this unthinkable tragedy. Any amount is appreciated,” reads the GoFundMe description.

Swift's boyfriend, Chiefs star Travis Kelce, has yet to make a donation to the GoFundMe page. He did, however, speak out on social media about the tragedy, sharing his grief and solidarity with the community.

The shooting

The tragic incident took place while Kansas City Chiefs fans were celebrating the Super Bowl LVIII title. López-Galván, a mother of two, was shot and killed. It was initially reported that she died after being shot in the abdomen, however later reports clarified that she died at the scene.

The incident also caused a stampede that left 22 people injured, including 11 children.

Two minors arrested

Kansas City authorities reported that two minors are in custody in a juvenile detention center, both on charges related to weapons and resisting authority.
