The 29-year-old Florida-born man taught English in private schools in Bangkok. He is also denounced for recording sexual encounters with a 16-year-old girl.
Luke Rockwell, a teacher turned TikTok star, has been arrested for allegedly having sex with a minor in Thailand. Rockwell taught English in private schools in Bangkok. On social media he is known as "Master Luke" and had more than two million followers on an account that is now private.
The 29-year-old Florida-born man contacted a 16-year-old girl on social media before having sex with her "on multiple occasions." In addition, he is accused of recording the sexual encounters, according to the Daily Mail.
The girl's mother said she found out about her daughter's relationship when she had to take her to the doctor for severe abdominal pain caused by chlamydia and gonorrhea. Upon learning the medical results, the girl explained to her mother that she had had sex with Rockwell and that the first time she used protection, but then not because she trusted Rockwell.
"I knew something was wrong when my daughter looked very sick. She looked pale and she was clutching her tummy complaining about the pain in that area. I kept on asking her questions until she told me about this man called Teacher Luke," the mother said in a statement collected by the Daily Mail.
'He surrendered voluntarily'
Police at Khlong Tan District Police Station received the mother's complaint on the 29th of August. A court then issued an arrest warrant for Rockwell. You are being charged with separating a minor over the age of 15 but not older than 18 from his or her parents, guardians or caregivers without reasonable cause, as well as having sex with a minor and recording sexual encounters.
The man reportedly confessed the relationship to the authorities, according to the Daily Mail. "The suspect surrended willingly and was cooperative. He has confessed to the relationship with the minor," said Lieutenant General Thitsit Sangsawan, commander of the Crime Suppression Division.
