Robert De Niro's 19-year-old grandson was found dead on July 2. His mother Drena said he died of a fentanyl overdose.
Law enforcement authorities have arrested drug trafficker Sofia Haley Marks, aka "Princess Percocet," for her alleged connection to the overdose death of Leandro De Niro, grandson of two-time Oscar winner Robert De Niro. The 19-year-old victim was found dead in an apartment in New York on July 2.
"Princess Percocet" was arrested by Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents Thursday at around 6 p.m., in an undercover operation. She is accused of distribution of narcotics.
Drena De Niro, Leandro's mother, confirmed in a comment on Instagram and picked up by the New York Post that her son died from an overdose of pills laced with fentanyl. "Someone sold him fentanyl-laced pills that they knew were laced yet still sold them to him. So for all these people still f–king around selling and buying this s–t, my son is gone forever," she wrote.
