Republican State Rep. Kris Jordan from Delaware County, Ohio, died Saturday at age 46. Jordan was serving his third term as a representative of the state's 60th District after previously serving two terms in the Ohio Senate.

According to local media reports, Jordan died Saturday at his home of natural causes. Gov. Mike DeWine ordered flags at half-mast at the Ohio Statehouse and on all public buildings and grounds throughout Delaware County, noting his condolences for what he called an "unexpected loss."

Jordan was a member of the Republican Party. He was a member of the Ohio House of Representatives from 2019 until his death (after an earlier term from 2009 to 2010), and the Ohio Senate from 2011 to 2019, where he was chairman of the Senate State and Local Government and Veterans Affairs Committee.

He is survived by his three children, all under the age of 10, who were not in the home at the time of his death.
