GOP bill would force Biden to treat Iran like 'the enemy it is'

Many concerns have been raised about how sanctions relief on the Islamic country may have benefited Hamas.

Rep. Darrell Issa, R-California, says his “no funding for Iran-backed terrorism” bill would prompt the Biden Administration to enforce sanctions against the Islamic country.

After Joe Biden made $6 billion available to Iran as part of an agreement to release five American hostages, many have voiced concerns about how this money could have supported Hamas to carry out the atrocious attacks against Israel, and according to Issa, this would not be the only amount that Biden released to Iran, and that could have helped in the attack against the Jewish country.

Biden acknowledged that Iran is supporting Hamas, something we all know. He should have said his $6 billion ransom payment and $50 billion in sanctions relief enabled Iran to support Hamas,” the representative said on his social networks.

However, Issa explained that his legislative proposal would serve to correct the policies of the Biden Administration, as it would enforce the laws and sanctions imposed on Iran.

“My bill, the “No Funds for Iran-Backed Terror Act,” will fundamentally alter the direction of U.S. policy toward Iran and finally enforce our laws. It is a necessary course correction to treat Iran not as a strategic partner but as the enemy they are,” he said.

Although Iran has denied having collaborated with the massacre of hundreds of defenseless civilians in Israel, an account from The Wall Street Journal recently revealed that Officers of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) had been working with Hamas for months to plan the incursion of Hamas militiamen and other armed groups into Israel.

“Details of the operation were refined during several meetings in Beirut attended by IRGC officers and representatives of four Iran-backed militant groups, including Hamas, which holds power in Gaza, and Hezbollah, a Shiite militant group and political faction in Lebanon,” he indicated.
