Sylvester Stallone pays tribute to Carl Weathers: 'Apollo, keep punching'
“He was magic and I was so fortunate to be part of his life,” said the actor.
Many Hollywood stars have said their goodbyes in the last several hours to Carl Weathers who died on Friday at the age of 76. Sylvester Stallone’s tribute was especially touching. Weathers’ co-star in the Rocky movies posted a video on Instagram praising his late co-star and boxing rival.
The actor stood in front of a painting of their popular characters in the final scene of Rocky III. Stallone described Weathers as someone "magic.” Stallone said the Rocky movies wouldn’t have been possible without him.
He was absolutely brilliant. He was magic, and I was so fortunate to be part of his life. Yesterday we lost a legend. My life was forever changed for the better the day I met Carl Weathers. Rest in power and keeping punching.
