Video: First trailer for 'IF,' the new film by John Krasinski featuring Ryan Reynolds, Steve Carell and Emily Blunt
The actors who played Jim Halpert and Michael Scott in "The Office" are teaming up again a decade after the show's finale.
On May 16, 2013, the final episode of the iconic series "The Office" aired. Although Steve Carell, who played Michael Scott, regional manager of Dunder Mifflin, had left the office (and the show) a year earlier, he reappeared in the final episode as a sort of second farewell. In the first, John Krasinski, who played the salesman Jim Halpert, was in Carrell's final scene:
A decade later, Krasinski and Carell are teaming up again. This time, in a project designed by Krasinski. He shared the first look at the film Thursday. It will be called "IF," an abbreviation for "Imaginary Friends," a film suitable for all audiences that will hit theaters in May 2024. Carell voices one of the imaginary friends who must be saved by Bea (Cailey Fleming) and The Man Upstairs (Ryan Reynolds).
Krasinski, Reynolds and Carell... But the star cast doesn't end there. Also featured in the film will be Fiona Shaw, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Louis Gossett Jr., Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Maya Rudolph, Jon Stewart, Bobby Moynihan, Sam Rockwell, Sebastian Maniscalco, Christopher Meloni and Richard Jenkins.
"Imaginary friends are not just these adorable creatures, they are actually time capsules for our hopes, dreams, ambitions," explained the director of "A Quiet Place" in a behind-the-scenes video published by Paramount Pictures. The video concludes with Carell making Krasinski laugh. "Stop, that is too good. OK, we're done."
