Texas orders immigrants to be returned to the border

Gov. Greg Abbott authorizes National Guard and state police to turn back illegals in the face of a "Biden-caused" diversion.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has authorized state authorities to return immigrants to border crossings. In an attempt to stem the immigration surge, the National Guard and state police will arrest illegals and return them to the border. Abbott's executive order comes after several counties called for a declaration of invasion in the area.

"The Biden Administration's decision to end Title 42 removals and the stay policy in Mexico has led to historic levels of illegal crossings, with the detention of 5,000 immigrants over the Fourth of July weekend, creating a border crisis that has overwhelmed communities along the border and across Texas," the governor charges.

Greg Abbott denounces government inaction. "While President Biden refuses to do his job and enforce the immigration laws enacted by Congress, the State of Texas is, once again, stepping up and taking unprecedented action to protect Americans and secure our southern border," he says. "The cartels have been emboldened and enriched by President Biden's open borders policies, bringing in record numbers of people, guns and deadly drugs like fentanyl."

While President Biden refuses to do his job and enforce the immigration laws enacted by Congress, the State of Texas is once again stepping up and taking unprecedented steps to protect Americans and secure our southern border.

The document notes that the Biden Administration has abandoned the states' protection pact. It adds that it has forced the State of Texas to build a border wall and deploy state military forces "to secure the State of Texas and repel illegal immigration that funds the cartels". "Texas will continue to take steps to address these challenges caused by the Biden Administration," the governor states.

The world's deadliest border

So far this year we are approaching a thousand deaths in the crossing between Mexico and the USA. A UN report states that in 2021 more than 1,238 lives were lost during migration in the Americas. At least 728 of these deaths occurred at the border crossing between Mexico and the United States. Border control has been warning about the situation for some time and criticizing the Biden Administration for "working for chaos and anarchy".

According to Border Patrol data, in the month of May alone they intercepted more than 239,000 people trying to enter the country. The counter adds up to hundreds of undocumented immigrants crossing the border every day. Abbott has decided to go one step further in the face of the passivity of the federal government.
