Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is engaged to Mexican-American, Emmy Award-winning journalist Lauren Sánchez. The businessman proposed to his girlfriend, who he has been dating for five years, with a 20-carat diamond ring during a trip to the south of France.
As reported by People magazine, the couple were enjoying a vacation aboard their $500 million yacht Koru when Bezos, 59, popped the question to his 53-year-old girlfriend. After Bezos proposed to Sánchez, the two continued their vacation and went to the Cannes Film Festival to enjoy the premiere of the movie "Killers of the Flower Moon," where the ring that the Amazon founder gave to his now fiancée was seen for the first time.

The two went public with their relationship in January 2019, while both were in the process of separating from their respective partners. Bezos divorced his ex-wife, Mackenzie Scott, to whom he had been married for 25 years and with whom he has four children. The divorce was finalized with Scott retaining 25% of the shares they both held in Amazon, a company they founded together. Sánchez, meanwhile, ended her marriage to artist agent Patrick Whitesell after 13 years together and two children.
