Israel is two weeks into the war. The Israelis are defending themselves against the terrorist group Hamas and have managed to execute several key leaders who were behind the planning and execution of the harsh attacks against the territory of Israel and its citizens. This Thursday the Defense Forces (IDF) reported that at least seven members with high ranking positions within the organization were killed.

"Every Hamas leader is responsible for the murder of Israeli and Palestinian civilians, arming children and exploiting civilian and humanitarian areas for terrorist purposes," the IDF explains.

This is the case of Zachariah Abu Ma'amar, head of the International Relations Office of the Hamas Political Bureau. He was killed on October 10 in an Israeli air strike. "During the night, an IDF plane hit Zachariah Abu Ma'amar, a senior member of the political bureau of the terrorist organization Hamas," the Israeli authorities wrote on their X (formerly Twitter) account. The terrorist was responsible for Hamas' internal communications and coordination between terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip. He was known for being close to Hamas' leader in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar.

That same day Joad Abu Shmalah was also killed. He was the Minister of Economy of Hamas in the Gaza Strip and, according to the authorities, was the financial backer of the terrorists. "Shmalah was responsible for the hundreds of millions of dollars Hamas received annually and invested them in funding and directing terrorist activity against civilians within and outside the Gaza Strip," the IDF explained.

The Israeli Air Force posted a video on October 12 showing the attack in which Muhammad Abu Shamla, a senior Hamas naval operative in the Rafah Brigade, was killed. Abu Shamla was an agent of Hamas' Nukhba forces and his home was used to store naval weapons intended to carry out attacks against Israelis.

Ali Qadi was also responsible for the October 7 attack. The commander of the Nukhba Jabalya Assault Company of Hamas was killed on October 14. "Hamas’ Nukhba forces led the brutal massacre of Israeli civilians in communities surrounding the Gaza Strip on October 7th. Furthermore, in 2005, Qadi was apprehended after the kidnapping and murder of Israeli civilians and was released as part of the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange," the IDF stated.

The man responsible for killing children and the first woman elected to the political bureau

Between 15 and 16 October it was learned that Belal Alqadra, commander of the Nukhba Southern Khan Yunis assault company, was killed. He was responsible for killing Kibbutzim families and children. "Alqadra himself was largely responsible for the massacre of innocent Israeli women, children and men in the Kibbutzim Nirim and Nir Oz, carried out on October 7th," authorities said.

The IDF claimed that they also executed Muetaz Eid, commander of the National Security of the Southern District of Hamas; and Merad Abu Merad, head of the Hamas air force in Gaza City. However, Israel did not delve into the specific roles each of them played.

In addition to senior officials, Israel has also managed to kill other influential leaders within the organization. For example, this Thursday, Jamila al Shanti was killed. She was the first woman elected to the political bureau of Hamas and widow of the group's co-founder Abdel Aziz Rantisi.

The terrorists' attack against Israelis began on October 7. So far 1,200 people have been murdered by Hamas. Due to the situation, more than 500,000 people had to be displaced within Israel, from communities near the border with Gaza to safer areas. Areas in the north and south of the country also had to be evacuated.

"Hamas’ leaders are the driving force behind the terrorist organization’s countless attacks and brutality. Whether they are an active part of assault companies and commando terrorist forces or ministers."
