During the Dallas Mavericks’ massive victory over the Utah Jazz (147-97), fans witnessed one of the best players in the NBA today break a record that only increases his legend in the best league in the world. At just 24 years old, Luka Doncic became the first basketball player to record a 25-point triple-double during the first half of a game (29 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists).

But it was not the only historical mark he made in this game against the Jazz. The Slovenian player, who is playing his sixth season leading the Mavs, recorded the 60th triple-double of his career, placing him in ninth place all-time in the triple-double ranking, surpassing Larry Bird.

"Pretty incredible. I don't know what to say, honestly. We all know who Larry Bird was, so it's pretty special," Doncic said after the game, remembering the Boston Celtics legend. The leader of the Mavericks received praise from his teammates, such as Tim Hardaway Jr., who thought he could reach 50 points, 20 rebounds and 20 assists.

Ultimately, Doncic finished the game with 40 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists in 32 minutes.
