Chaos at the New York shelter on Randall's Island: A security guard stabs an immigrant in the neck
It is the second incident involving a knife that has occurred in less than two weeks at an immigration center.
The immigrant shelter on Randall's Island, New York, was the scene of a chaotic incident involving a security guard stabbing an immigrant in the neck. The event occurred this Thursday and those involved were arrested by law enforcement.
According to the New York media report, police responded to a 911 call to the shelter. Inside, they found an immigrant with a stab wound to the neck caused by a sharp object. The injured person was then transported in stable condition to Harlem Hospital by emergency services.
According to the New York Post, the victim and a security guard were arguing before the incident. The argument caused a chaotic scuffle which ended with the victim injured in the neck. Although the New York Post claims that the attacker is the security guard, it was unable to identify the aggressor in more detail.
At the crime scene, New York Police Department officers arrested several individuals, including a woman and two other men. This occurred just two weeks after a similar incident, which ended with one immigrant stabbing another to death after fighting over a woman.
