Former President Donald Trump pleaded not guilty Thursday to all 13 counts related to alleged election interference in Georgia. In addition, the former president explained that he will not attend the arraignment in court.

"As evidenced by my signature below, I do hereby waive formal arraignment and enter my plea of NOT GUILTY to the Indictment in this case," reads the document signed by Trump, which was accessed by CBS.

The former president turned himself in to authorities last Thursday to be officially booked into the Fulton County jail, in what is his fourth criminal trial so far this year. After being released on bail, the Republican maintained his innocence and criticized the justice system.

"When you have that great freedom to challenge, you have to be able to, otherwise you get very dishonest elections. What has taken place here is a travesty of justice. We did nothing wrong. I did nothing wrong, and everybody knows that I've never had such support," Trump said.
