The mugshot of former President Donald Trump in the Fulton County Jail in Georgia is a political phenomenon generating millions of dollars for his presidential campaign ahead of the 2024 elections.

According to a report by Fox News, the former Republican president raised about $9,400,000 in recent days after being officially booked into the Fulton County jail.

In the entire month of August, Trump's campaign fundraised the astronomical sum of $20,000,000, despite the legal battles that the former president is facing.

"Since the moment my mugshot was plastered all over the Internet in a vicious attempt to wrongfully turn me into a criminal, our movement has RAISED $9 MILLION from grassroots patriots like YOU," Trump said in a statement released Tuesday by the Trump Save America Joint Fundraising Committee.

"In fact, our campaign recorded its SINGLE GREATEST FUNDRAISING DAY EVER," the former president added, referring to Friday of last week when it was his turn to turn himself in to the authorities of Georgia.

The Fox News report highlights that campaign fundraisers skyrocketed after Trump posted on his social networks, especially on Twitter (X), his mugshot with the message "NEVER SURRENDER!"

The post was a complete hit, going viral in minutes and surpassing 200,000,000 views in less than 24 hours.

The photo posted alone on social media did not generate all the revenue for the campaign. According to Fox News, nearly $3,000,000 was raised by selling 36,000 T-shirts, 24,000 coffee mugs and 8,600 posters with the image of Trump captured by Fulton law enforcement authorities printed on them.

The report indicates that the money raised will not be used for the defense of the former president for his different judicial processes but for political and campaign purposes.
