The Screen Actors Guild announced Wednesday that it was ending its historic strike. However, the four-month-long strike left some damaging consequences. An example of this is Marvel Studios, a Walt Disney Studios-owned company famous for its superhero movies. The film studio announced that all movies planned for 2024 were being postponed and only one of them, "Deadpool 3," would be released next year, although instead of hitting the big screen on May 3, 2004, it has been postponed until July 26.

The rest of the blockbusters that the superhero company had planned to release in 2024 will be delayed another year. "Captain America: Brave New World" will be postponed from July 26, 2024 to February 14, 2025. The other movies that were initially planned to be released throughout next year will also be pushed back. The movie "Thunderbolts" will be released on July 25, 2025, instead of December 20, 2024. In addition, one movie that was going to be released two years from now has also been postponed. The reboot of "Blade," has been postponed from February 15, 2025 to November 7 of that same year.

Disney postpones another one of its big releases

Marvel Studios is not the only one that has been forced to postpone its releases. The company's parent company, Walt Disney Studios, announced that "Mufasa: The Lion King," the live-action sequel to "The Lion King," will also be released in theaters later than originally planned.

According to Variety, the second part of the live-action movie based on the animated classic will now premiere on December 20, 2024. The movie directed by Barry Jenkins will be released six months later than planned and will no longer premiere on July 5, 2024, but will hit the big screen just in time for the Christmas holidays.
