Ever since actor Jonathan Majors was arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman, the future of his Marvel role is uncertain. So far it looks like his role is safe as a villain in Marvel's Phase 5. However, he has already been fired from other projects.

In just under a month the protagonist of Creed III has lost a publicity campaign he had with the U.S. Army, was eliminated from the adaptation of the novel The Man in My Basement and was let go from his role in a biopic about singer Otis Redding. The company that represented him has also dropped him and the public relations firm The Lede Company decided to distance itself from him.

In addition to the aforementioned issues, the actor's case could become more complicated by the fact that additional women are preparing new lawsuits against him. According to Variety, other alleged victims of Major's abuse have come forward and are cooperating with the Manhattan district attorney's office after the actor was arrested on March 25.

Despite this, the Marvel Cinematic Universe seems firm in its decision to continue working with the actor and keep him in the role of Kang the Conqueror, at least until there is more information on the case.

Majors defends his innocence

The actor's defense attorney, Priya Chaundry, assured that Majors is "innocent" and that he is the victim of the whole affair. "We have provided irrefutable evidence to the District Attorney that the charges are false. We are confident that he will be fully exonerated," she said.

Majors is being charged with strangulation, assault and harassment following a domestic dispute with a 30-year-old woman. According to authorities, the victim suffered minor injuries to her head and neck.

However, no further details of the case have yet been released. On May 8, the actor will appear before a judge to face the charges against him and attempt to clear his name.
