"Thank you all for your kind words": Renner sends message from hospital after serious accident

The actor's snow removal mishap at his Nevada residence resulted in thoracic trauma and several orthopedic injuries.

Jeremy Renner appeared through his official Instagram account after a critical accident he suffered on New Year's Eve.

The actor shared a photo where he appears from a hospital bed with some bruises but with a slight smile that encouraged many of his followers. He also took advantage of the publication to send a tender message in which he thanked all his fans.

"Thank you all for your kind words. Im too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all," he wrote.

What happened?

The mishap, as People magazine found out, occurred while the performer was shoveling snow and caused a blunt force chest trauma and several orthopedic injuries for which he has already undergone two surgeries.

However, despite the seriousness of his injuries, the actor known for playing Hawkeye in several of the Marvel films, remains stable. This was stated by Samantha Mast, his publicist, in a new press release sent to the media on Monday afternoon:

We can confirm that Jeremy has suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries and has undergone surgery today, January 2nd 2023. He has returned from surgery and remains in the intensive care unit in critical but stable condition.

The actor, who stars in Mayor of Kingstown, the new Paramount Plus TV series, has suffered "extensive" injuries, a source told People magazine. However, thanks to the quick action of the team that rescued him, as well as the medical staff who are taking care of him, he continues to recover from his injuries in the intensive care unit of the hospital where he is being treated. Renner's family thanked all of them for their work:

Jeremy's family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve and the Carano and Murdock families.

Admirers and colleagues keep an eye on Renner's condition

His family members also dedicated a few words to both fans and co-workers who took an interest in Jeremy Renner's condition: "They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans," Mast said in the letter.

The truth is that, since the accident became known, many fans flooded social networks wishing a speedy recovery to the Hawkeye actor. His name has been a Trending Topic for the last two days in Spain, Latin America and the United States, all of which have been following the progress of the American actor and producer.
