George Soros' son takes over Open Society Foundations and hints he will continue to fund left-wing causes

"As much as I would love to get money out of politics, as long as the other side is doing it, we will have to do it, too," Alexander Soros said.

The 92-year-old Hungarian billionaire, George Soros, has delegated control of the Open Society Foundations (OSF) to his 37-year-old son, Alexander Soros. OSF is a $25 billion company that has funded multiple left-wing causes.

Although the Democratic megadonor has assured in the past that he would not pass the baton of OSF to any of his five children, this Sunday, it became known that he changed his mind and that it will be his youngest son who will assume the company's leadership.

George Soros stated that Alexander had earned the position. After an interview with the young man, it became clear that his father took it upon himself to choose someone who wanted to carry on his legacy of supporting far-left projects and causes.

More political interests

Alexander Soros explained that being "more political" than his father, he plans to continue using company money to support his interests, especially now that he is concerned that Donald Trump may return to the White House.

"As much as I would love to get money out of politics, as long as the other side is doing it, we will have to do it too," said the son of the person who became the person who donated the most to the Democrats in the 2022 midterms. According to reports by OpenSecrets, George Soros allocated $128,477,271 to these elections.

In addition, it was learned earlier this year that the Hungarian tycoon also reportedly spent millions of dollars to build ties and influence several major U.S. media outlets.

Alexander and his White House ties

Since Joe Biden took office, the billionaire's son has frequently visited the White House. It was recently reported that Alexander held more than a dozen meetings with officials in Washington which, according to Tom Fitton, president of the group Judicial Watch, suggests that the young man has "an outsize policy influence in the Biden administration."
