Mexico: Aguascalientes Prosecutor's Office reveals that the magistrate Jesús Ociel Bahena was murdered by his partner

The prosecutor of Agusacalientes, Jesús Figueroa, explained that Dorian Daniel Herrera killed his partner with razor blades and then committed suicide.

Relatives of Jesus Ociel Baena, Mexico's first openly non-binary magistrate, attend a posthumous tribute at the Electoral Court of the State of Aguascalientes, in Aguascalientes, Mexico, on November 14, 2023. Baena, whose death sparked protests and anger among the LGBTQ community, appears to have been the victim of a murder-suicide committed by their partner, investigators said Tuesday. Despite prosecutors ruling out the presence of a third person at the scene, protesters gathered in Mexico City insisting Baena -- the first Mexican citizen to be granted a non-binary passport -- was the victim of a hate crime. The attorney general of Aguascalientes, Mexico, Jesús Figueroa, announced that the investigations into the death of the first 'non-binary' magistrate -Jesús Ociel Bahena- revealed that he was murdered by his partner, Dorian Daniel Herrera. The prosecutor detailed that he killed him with razor blades and then committed suicide. There is no evidence that there was a third person in the home.

"According to expert analysis, Dorian Daniel murdered his partner, Judge Jesús Ociel Bahena, with razor blades, and then committed suicide," the prosecutor explained during an interview with journalist Ciro Gómez Leyva.

The prosecutor explained that according to the interpretation of forensic sciences, "an argument began in one of the upstairs bedrooms and we found a considerable blood stain on the bed and later a disorder where there was blood on clothes and a bedspread. There were drip like stains."

In addition, he indicated that the magistrate received a fatal wound to the jugular.: "At the bottom of the property, moving up the stairs where we found a greater abundance of blood stains and that is where we found the bodies. We found 20 wounds on the magistrate's body, of those 20 wounds, 19 were superficial, with a sharp object that "We identified as razor blades, which are instruments that have sharp edges on all four sides and are very fine in size."

"We observed that the instruments used were razors. It may seem like a not very credible hypothesis, but we are being careful, especially to keep a record of all the evidence; not to mention the inspection that was carried out on the place," said the prosecutor of Aguscalientes.

"We don't know what happened"

Last Monday, the authorities found the lifeless body of Jesús Ociel Baena Saucedo, magistrate of the Electoral Court of Aguascalientes, and his partner in their apartment.

"The president of the Electoral Court, Salvador Hernández, reported that Baena Saucedo and another person were allegedly among the victims, but we do not know what happened," reported El Universal.

The president of the Electoral Tribunal explained that at 9:00 a.m. he received a call informing him that something was happening at Ociel's house. He proceeded to call his partner on the phone and no one answered.
