Italy: Etna volcano erupts

Etna erupted again for the first time in two months. The volcano is located on the island of Sicily (Italy) and is one of the most active volcanoes in the world.

The Catania airport has been temporarily closed. This is the second most populated city on the island after Palermo. Airport activity is expected to resume in the next few hours. Sicily is one of the favorite destinations of many Italian and European tourists, especially during peak season.
