It is unfeasible to deny that he is one of the best players in the NBA and in the world—perhaps, the best—and even more so after watching his latest performance. Nikola Jokic showed again what he is made of, with another double-double, in the Denver Nuggets' away win against Los Angeles Clippers (116-130).

In the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, the Serbian center led the Colorado franchise to its ninth win of the regular season thanks to the 55 points he scored against Clippers. To these figures he added the 12 rebounds he grabbed and the six times in which he assisted one of his teammates.

Nuggets managed to go to the end of the first 12 minutes ahead on the scoreboard, with a slight advantage. The Colorado franchise scored 39 points, of which 25 came from Jokic. However, in the second quarter, Clippers resisted, were more effective and turned the score around.

The Angelinos tried to maintain their advantage on the scoreboard, but, in the third quarter, Jokic appeared again. The Serbian center scored 19 points in those 12 minutes, and Nuggets outscored their rivals 43-22 to face the final stretch of the duel with 16 points more than Clippers.

In the last quarter, finished the job and put the game away. The scoring show offered by Jokic against Clippers was joined by his two comrades-in-arms: Aaron Gordon and Jamal Murray. The former contributed 18 points and the latter 15.

On the Californian side their star, James Harden (23 points), and Jordan Miller (22), who started from the bench, stood out.

Lakers, silenced by a thunderclap

In another of the day's other outstanding games, the one that pitted two of the franchises favored to win the Ring, Oklahoma City Thunder - who remain, to date, the best performing franchise of the season - swept the Los Angeles Lakers (121-92).

All eyes were on the leaders of each of the contenders. And it was the local star who prevailed. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, last season's best player, closed as the game's top scorer (30 points), while Luka Doncic had a more discreet performance than usual (19 points).

The outstanding team performance of Thunder—mainly from their starting five and Isaiah Joe (21 points)—was what led to the victory of the Oklahoma franchise against Lakers.

Mavericks still not getting back on their feet; Celtics sweep Grizzlies

The rest of the day's action saw Phoenix Suns beat Dallas Mavericks who remain in critical condition (114-123) and Boston Celtics win Memphis Grizzlies (131-95) at TD Garden.

Detroit Pistons, who are positioned at the top of the Eastern Conference standings, added another win, this time against Chicago Bulls (124-113) and San Antonio Spurs fell at home to Golden State Warriors (120-125).
