The Cleveland Cavaliers, led by Donovan Mitchell, cruised to a 126-106 victory over the Miami Heat on Wednesday, following a win by the top-ranked Indiana Pacers in the 2025 NBA season.

The Cavs defeated the Miami Heat, who continue to struggle without Jimmy Butler, suspended indefinitely for disciplinary issues.

Mitchell scored 34 points, helping the Cavs maintain their lead in the Eastern Conference with a 38-9 record.

Pascal Siakam also stood out, scoring a season-high 37 points in the Pacers' 133-119 home win over the Detroit Pistons.

Siakam, 30, is in his second season with the Pacers, who currently have the best record in the NBA for 2025 with 10 wins and just two losses, placing them fifth in the East.

Nets and Celtics also celebrate

In another matchup, the Brooklyn Nets defeated the Charlotte Hornets 104-83. Keon Johnson led the Nets with 18 points, despite missing on all seven of his attempts from the three-point line.

With the win, Brooklyn snapped a seven-game losing streak. Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors built a 29-point lead en route to a 106-82 victory over the Washington Wizards.

The Canadian squad had eight players scoring at least 10 points, led by Scottie Barnes with 24. For the Wizards, Kyle Kuzma recorded a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds.

Kristaps Porzingis scored 34 points in the Boston Celtics' 122-100 win over the Chicago Bulls. Jaylen Brown scored 28 points, while Al Horford, from the Dominican Republic, was absent from the game.

Davis out for at least a week with abdominal strain for Lakers

Anthony Davis, one of the Los Angeles Lakers' star players, will miss at least a week of NBA action due to a muscle strain in his abdomen, the team announced Wednesday.

Davis sustained the injury Tuesday in the first quarter of the Lakers' loss to the Sixers. He grabbed his stomach while heading to the locker room and did not return to the game.

The Lakers said an MRI "confirmed an abdominal muscle strain."

"David is returning to Los Angeles (Wednesday) and will be re-evaluated in about a week," the team said in a statement released on social media.

The 31-year-old will miss the Lakers' games in Washington, New York and against the Clippers.

So far this season, Davis is averaging 25.7 points and 11.9 rebounds.
