DeSantis would consider RFK Jr. to head the CDC or the FDA

This is what the presidential candidate said in a recent interview, where he also revealed his closeness with the Democrat on distrust of federal health officials.

Ron DeSantis slipped the possibility of appointing Robert Kenndy Jr. to head the Center for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC) or the Food and Drug Administration(FDA), should he win the presidential election. The Florida governor was close to the Democrat in distrusting the federal government.

The Republican, currently second in the polls behind Donald Trump, participated in a Clay Travis interview, in which he was specifically asked if he would consider Bobby Kennedy' s son as a running mate.

"If you are president, put it on the FDA [Administración de Alimentos y Medicamentos] if you are willing to serve. Or send it to CDC [Centros para el Control y la Prevención de Enfermedades]," DeSantis responded.

"But in terms of being vice president, there's 70 percent of the issues where he can be reluctant to our base, you know, that just creates a problem," he added.

Kennedy recently testified before the House Judiciary Committee and opined on the "militarization" of the federal government. The Democratic presidential candidate recently exchanged praise with Trump.

When Kennedy refused to speak ill of the former president, he returned the favor, declaring that "he is a very good man" and that "his heart is in the right place."

"There's a lot of things, you know, he' s a common sense guy and so am I, so whether you're conservative or progressive, common sense is common sense," Trump added.

Days later, the Democrat welcomed the praise."Trump is the best debater. Just don't debate going against Trump'. I was very honored by the fact that he said that. I'm glad he thinks that way," he said in an interview with News Nation.

Kennedy is far behind Joe Biden in the polls, although he would have a 20% share of the vote in the Democratic primaries.
