"There is no climate emergency": two Nobel laureates lead a statement against environmental sensationalism

John F. Clauser and Ivan Giaver signed a declaration calling for policies more focused on science and reality than on deception and false beliefs.

"There is no climate emergency," affirms a declaration signed by 1609 members of the world's scientific community, including two Nobel laureates, who charge against government policies and the global climate agenda.

The declaration, supported by the Global Climate Intelligence Group (CLINTEL), does not discount the harmful effects of polluting emissions, but it does speak of a politically motivated exaggeration that takes advantage of uncertainty.

"Climate science should be less political, while climate policies should be more scientific," rads the introduction to this initiative led by John F. Clauser and Ivar Giaver, both Nobel laureates in Physics. The declaration defends its independence and ensures that the public debate around climate change is based on misconceptions.

Simplistic and erroneous messages

"Climate science has degenerated into a discussion based on beliefs, not on sound self-critical science. Should not we free ourselves from the naive belief in immature climate models?" the statement reads. CLINTEL and its signatories claim that the climate agenda is vulnerable to political interests that do not clarify the real costs and supposed benefits of environmental policies to the public. According to the statement, there is a "gap" between the real world and the situation that environmental policies sell to the public.

John F. Clauser, one of the signatories, said that the current situation of the public debate on climate change is clouded by the interference of a slew of social agents who have spread simplistic and erroneous messages. The scientific community has not adequately addressed or tried to find a solution to this accumulation of misinformation.

Misguided climate science has metastasized into massive shock-journalistic pseudoscience. In turn, the pseudoscience has become a scapegoat for a wide variety of other unrelated ills. It has been promoted and extended by similarly misguided business marketing agents, politicians, journalists, government agencies, and environmentalists.

Warming is much slower than predicted

Contrary to the alarming messages that typically come from climate change spokespeople, CLINTEL assures that there are many more nuances to the situation. According to the statement, global warming is much slower than environmental agencies have claimed over the years. CLINTEL states that, contrary to what government policies maintain, CO2 is not absolutely harmful. It is a source of food and resources for the earth's biomass.

Contrary to popular belief, there is no statistical evidence that global warming is intensifying hurricanes, floods, droughts or any other natural disasters. However, measures to reduce CO2 emissions continue to be increasingly costly for society.
