Nearly 9,000 immigrants were sent by Abbott on buses to New York and Washington

The governor of Texas invited the progressive mayors to visit the state but, they refused to go and "to acknowledge the magnitude of the problem".

The state of Texas has bused nearly 9,000 immigrants to New York and Washington in recent months at the order of Governor Greg Abbott in protest against the immigration policies of Joe Biden's administration. This was reflected by the governor of the Lone Star State, Greg Abbott, in his latest statement.

Governor Abbott offered an assessment of the immigration crisis: "Texas has also bused more than 7,400 migrants to our nation's capital since April and more than 1,500 migrants to New York City since August 5. The busing mission is providing much needed relief to our overwhelmed border communities."

Solidarity from Washington D.C. and New York: "All talk".

The release also reports that Governor Abbott lamented on Fox News "the hypocrisy of New York CityMayor Eric Adams complaining about the arrival of migrants by bus from Texas to his sanctuary city." The Governor invited Mayor Adams and Washington, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser to the Texas border. The objective was to show them the migration crisis "first hand". But the mayors did not accept the invitation and refused "to acknowledge the magnitude of the problem," according to Abbott. The local governor also said: "Eric Adams is all talk when it comes to open borders".

Abbott is blunt about the immigration situation:"This is not a Texas problem; it's an American problem caused by the president. He adds, "We need more Americans to call on the president to respect his oath of office and enforce U.S. immigration laws."

The drug threat

The Texas governor's statement explains that in the fight against fentanyl, law enforcement has seized more than 335.5 million lethal doses during this border mission. "Operation Lone Star continues to fill the dangerous gaps left by the Biden Administration's refusal to secure the border. Every individual who is apprehended or arrested and every ounce of drugs seized would have reached Texas communities and the nation because of President Biden's open border policies."

Since the launch of Operation Lone Star, the multi-agency effort has led to more than 297,200 migrant apprehensions and more than 19,000 criminal arrests, with more than 16,400 felony charges reported, according to official information from the governor's office.
