This Thursday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) revealed images of a ground operation in Gaza that led to the discovery and dismantling of a key Hamas training area.

According to an IDF report, Israeli fighters found a Hamas compound known as the "Martyrs' Outpost" that was used to train terrorists.

The operation south of Khan Yunis involved heavy hand-to-hand fighting backed by tanks and air support. However, Israeli forces eliminated dozens of Hamas members and managed to seize a considerable number of weapons.

The complex housed the offices of the battalion commander of Hamas' Khan Younis Brigade and other military commanders of the group—all this in an apparently urbanized area.

"The soldiers located numerous weapons and intelligence documents, including dozens of hand grenades, AK-47s, ammunition, excavation equipment, launchers, RPG missiles, explosives, and combat management documents," the IDF said.

As evidence of the discovery and seizure, the soldiers shared several images of the raid, including a video of the harsh moments of combat.

IDF destroys Hamas weapons factory

In addition to a training complex, Israeli soldiers announced the location and destruction of a Hamas munitions manufacturing factory.

According to the statement, the factory was located in the underground tunnels that the terrorist group had near the Salah al-Din axis. "The tunnels were divided into spaces used for the production of rockets and weapons," the report indicates.

Thanks to all the operations that the IDF has carried out, Israel controls most of the territory in Gaza. However, Hamas still maintains its operational capacity due to the immense network of tunnels and underground infrastructure in populated areas.

The situation remains a critical issue in the ongoing conflict, so Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu believes the war could still continue for "many more months."

Searching for hostages' bodies in a cemetery

The Israeli army also conducted a search and rescue operation for the bodies of deceased hostages in a cemetery in Gaza. According to reports, the Israeli army is so committed to rescuing and returning the bodies of hostages that they decided to conduct search operations in a cemetery south of Khan Younis.

The IDF explained that the searches were conducted at specific locations after obtaining information suggesting that some hostage bodies might be there. "The hostage identification process, conducted at a secure and alternative location, ensures optimal professional conditions and respect for the deceased. Bodies determined not to be those of hostages are returned with dignity and respect," they added.
