Victor Wembanyama reached 41 points again Wednesday to lead the San Antonio Spurs's to their 10th straight win, a 127-113 victory over the Warriors, on a night marked by Boston's record-setting offense and a tight race in the East.

Following his performance against the Chicago Bulls on Monday, Wemby came through for the Warriors with ease this time, scoring 16 of 22 shots from the field, as well as adding 18 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocks.

The 22-year-old, who already had 27 points and 13 rebounds at halftime, led San Antonio to its 10th straight win.

The Spurs, second in the West with 58 wins and 18 losses, continue to put pressure on the league-leading Oklahoma City Thunder (60-16) with eight days left in the regular season.

Against a Warriors depleted by losses (Jimmy Butler, Stephen Curry, Al Horford, Kristaps Porzingis, among others), Wemby completely dominated the game, showing great accuracy from mid-range and near the basket.

Game after game, the Frenchman impresses the fans and openly admits that he is a candidate for the MVP award. On Thursday, he will be back with the Texans to face the Los Angeles Clippers.

Celtics offensive display

The Boston Celtics staged an offensive explosion in their 147-129 win over the Miami Heat, scoring an impressive 53 points in the first quarter, their most on the season and one not seen in Massachusetts since 1970.

After returning earlier this month from a torn Achilles tendon, Jayson Tatum is getting back into his groove and recorded an impressive triple-double with 25 points, 18 rebounds and 11 assists.

Teammate Jaylen Brown also had a stellar performance with 43 points, his seventh 40-point game of the season, whileBam Adebayo contributed 29.

East playoffs wide open

Paul George had his best offensive performance in a Philadelphia 76ers jersey, leading the team to a 153-131 victory over Washington, scoring 39 points on 15-of-22 shooting from the field.

The 76ers moved up to sixth place in the East (42 wins, 34 losses), the final playoff berth, thanks to a poor showing by the Toronto Raptors, who have the same record, after losing 123-115 at home to Sacramento.

The in-form Atlanta Hawks sit fifth (44 wins, 33 losses) after a crucial 130-101 win over the Orlando Magic, who fell to ninth place (40 wins, 36 losses).

The standings remain tight in the East, dfrom the Hawks in fifth place to the Miami Heat in tenth (40 wins, 37 losses).
