Tatis Jr., Dubón, Sanoja: Hispanics shine with the 2025 Gold Glove

Major League Baseball announced Sunday the Gold Glove winners for the 2025 season, including Dominican Fernando Tatis Jr. of the San Diego Padres.
Tatis Jr., 26, has been selected as the National League's Gold Glove right fielder for the second time in the past three seasons.
Venezuelan Javier Sanoja, a utilityman for the Miami Marlins, became the first player from the Florida team to earn such recognition since Dominican Marcell Ozuna in the 2017 season.
Along with Tatis Jr. they are the only Hispanic players to win a Gold Glove in the National League this season.
In the American League, Honduran Mauricio Dubón of the Houston Astros earned his second Gold Glove since the 2023 season.
He was a quintessential utilityman in a 2025 season in which he played 48 games left field, 46 at second base, 33 at shortstop, 24 at third base, 17 in center field, four at first base and three in right field.
García and Abreu complete the list
García achieves it for the first time in his career while for Abreu it is his second consecutive.
The Gold Glove awards have been given since the 1957 season and signify the highest recognition for defensive work in the Major Leagues.
