The Los Angeles Dodgers returned to beat the Chicago Cubs at the Tokyo Dome in Japan. The reigning World Series champions defeated their rival 6x3, with a stellar performance by Shohei Ohtani.

Before his compatriots, the Japanese star connected with his first home run of the season in the fifth inning of the game. It was a play that required a review, however, it was confirmed that the ball had touched a fan before returning to the field.

Ohtani's performance drew praise from fans and his own teammates alike. "In big moments it seems like he just does what the fans want him to do. You had a feeling he was going to go out there and do it for the fans tonight, and that's exactly what he did," Dodgers player Michael Conforto said after the game.

Two other players who connected on a home run were American Tommy Edman and Puerto Rican Enrique Hernandez, both of the Dodgers.

Aside from Ohtani, another Japanese player captured attention. Roki Sasaki made his debut with the Dodgers and also delivered, fully aware that all eyes would be on him.
