Getting back on track from their dire start to the NBA season, the Milwaukee Bucks won their sixth straight game Saturday by beating the Washington Wizards, 124-114, with a personal record from Giannis Antetokounmpo, while Kevin Durant's Suns beat Stephen Curry's Warriors.

Antetokounmpo, a two-time NBA MVP, racked up 42 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists to seal the 48th triple double of his career.

This triple double, however, was special for the Greek Freak, as it was the first one he achieved while scoring more than 40 points.

Next to him, point guard Damian Lillard finished with 25 points and 10 assists.

Milwaukee's stellar duo have had to work harder than expected to turn around their team, which lost eight of the first 10 games of the season.

It was the third game in which both Lillard and Antetokounmpo scored at least 25 points and 10 assists, the most by any pair of teammates in a single season.

The Wizards, whose leading scorer was guard Jordan Poole (31 points), have lost all 14 games played in the month of November and remain last in the Eastern Conference (2-16).

Durant overtakes Curry

Saturday's five-game day also brought a new duel between Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant, two stars of the last decade and teammates with the champion Golden State Warriors in 2017 and 2018.

On this occasion, Durant's Phoenix Suns were victorious, 113-105, against Curry's Warriors, who conceded their fourth straight loss.

Durant finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds and Devin Booker came in at 27 for Phoenix, which was without its third star, Bradley Beal.

Curry came up with 23 points and commanded a 17-5 run by the Warriors that put some excitement into the final minutes.

Golden State (12-7) dropped one spot to fourth in the West, while Phoenix (11-8) moved into seventh.

The Philadelphia 76ers (4-14), second-to-last in the East, caught some air Saturday with a 111-96 win against the Detroit Pistons.

The return of Paul George, the stellar free agent signing of the summer for Philadelphia, after a 10-day layoff, contributed to the win with 11 points and 8 rebounds in 26 minutes.

With 28 points, guard Tyrese Maxey was the top scorer for the Sixers, who are still without their leader, Joel Embiid, who has missed 14 of the team's 18 games with left knee problems.

In their game, the Atlanta Hawks didn't need a big night from Trae Young to beat the Charlotte Hornets, 107-104, on the road.

Young was held to 14 points, the same as French rookie Zaccharie Risacher, against a Hornets team who announced Saturday that star guard LaMelo Ball will be out at least two weeks with a calf strain.
