Milwaukee Bucks break losing streak against Utah Jazz
First home win of the season with Damian Lillard scoring 34 points.
The Milwaukee Bucks ended a streak of six straight losses by sealing their first home win of the season 123-100 against the Utah Jazz on Thursday, with Damian Lillard scoring 34 points.
Lillard hit four 3-pointers and made 12 of 22 from the field to score his third straight game with at least 30 points and help Milwaukee to its second win since beating the Philadelphia 76ers last month in the season opener.
Giannis Antetokounmpo added 31 points and 16 rebounds, while Bobby Portis chipped in 19 off the bench to give Milwaukee a must-win victory and start putting their dismal start to the season behind them.
"Tonight we came out with the right mindset. They hit some three-pointers, but we hung tough, shared the ball and finally got into a rhythm and took the game," said star of the game Damian Lillard.
In other games, the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Chicago Bulls 135-119 on the road, while the San Antonio Spurs proved too strong for the Portland Trail Blazers and won 118-105. The solid win disguised the absence of their historic coach, Gregg Popovich, due to health problems.
In Chicago, Anthony Edwards was the architect of the Timberwolves' comeback with 33 points, including five three-pointers, eight rebounds and six assists.
Six Timberwolves players finished in double figures, with Julius Randle scoring 22 points and Rudy Gobert adding 21 points.
Nikola Vucevic led Chicago scorers with 25 points, and Coby White added 24.
