Authorities released a new video Thursday night of the alleged attacker who killed conservative activist Charlie Kirk during an event at Utah Valley University. The footage, unveiled at a news conference in Orem, is the latest evidence in a search that has now been going on for more than 30 hours and is mobilizing key state and federal agencies.

The clip, time-stamped at 12:23 p.m. Wednesday, shows a man running on the roof of a campus building just moments after the shot that ended the activist's life. The images show how, as he descends over an edge with a significant leap, he rests his hand and leaves what appears to be a palm mark, and then, as he jumps down to the grass, his shoe print is recorded. According to Utah Public Safety Commissioner Beau Mason, the individual was wearing Converse-type tennis shoes.

Then, the individual crossed a busy street and entered a wooded area, where a high-powered bolt-action rifle was later found, which was allegedly used to carry out the attack.

Utah Governor Spencer Cox led the conference along with FBI Director Kash Patel, Deputy Director Dan Bongino, and other top officials. Patel, who previously toured the crime scene, did not offer public statements. Likewise, none of the authorities took questions from the press.

Governor Cox reported that the manhunt has so far generated more than 7,000 tips and citizen input, a figure the FBI said had not been seen since the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013. He also confirmed that prosecutors will work to seek the death penalty against the person responsible for the murder once he is arrested.

"We pray that God will bless our nation at this very dark time, we can start healing by finding this perpetrator and holding him accountable. And we need your help to do that," said the governor, who also warned of misinformation on social media in these critical hours.

"There is a tremendous amount of disinformation. We are tracking our team, the state team, and I'm sure the federal team as well. What we're seeing is our adversaries want violence. We have bots from Russia, China, and all over the world that are trying to instill disinformation and encourage violence," he said.

The FBI and local authorities also released photographs of the suspect, who appears to be wearing a black T-shirt with an eagle and an American flag, a baseball cap, dark glasses, and a black backpack. The preliminary profile indicates that the attacker managed to camouflage himself among the crowd, appearing to be of "college age."

The murder of Charlie Kirk, which occurred while he was speaking before some 3,000 people in a campus amphitheater, has shocked the United States, provoking reaction from all political sectors of the country. Meanwhile, the $100,000 reward offered by the FBI remains in place as authorities try to track down the suspect.
