A criminal gang, which is branded as "Anti-Tren," is attacking several rural areas of the country. Authorities and experts say it is a more dangerous group than Tren de Aragua.

Federal authorities indicated that the gang is believed to be composed almost exclusively of former members of Tren de Aragua.

In a federal indictment just unsealed in April, and obtained by Fox News, prosecutors charged 21 men with running a New York City drug trafficking and prostitution ring.

In that regard, the indictment detailed that members of the Anti-Tren group "protect their power and territory through various criminal acts, which includes violence towards members of Tren de Aragua."

"Preserving and protecting the power and territory of Anti-Tren and its members and associates through acts involving murder, assault, other acts of violence, and threats of violence, including acts of violence and threats of violence directed at members and associates of Tren de Aragua," the indictment stated.

In addition, it was learned that the criminals also profit off of illegal smuggling, which includes young Venezuelan women, sex trafficking of young women, drug trafficking and armed robberies.

A Fox News report noted that the criminal gang's presence goes beyond New York and the rural areas of the country are being affected by the situation.

For example, in September 2024, a Texas woman was robbed at gunpoint, pistol-whipped and tied up in her Dallas-area home located in the upscale Bluffview neighborhood, where the average home value is $880,000.

"Using Google Translate to communicate with the victim, the suspects left the house with $75,000 worth of jewelry, a Ferragamo handbag, a Judith Leiber handbag, a Gucci purse, coins from a box inside the house and the victim's phone," explained Fox which had access to court records.

The documents indicated that Manuel Hernandez-Hernandez, one of the men arrested, claimed the other men were part of the Anti-Tren gang. The Dallas Police Department did not comment, per Fox.
