According to an agency source cited by CNN, they were reassigned, in keeping with the anti-woke policy of the agency's new leadership.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has reassigned several agents who were photographed kneeling with protesters during a 2020 protest in the wake of George Floyd's death. According to CNN, who cites sources close to the matter, this is a disciplinary action.

The federal agency has not offered any clarification about these media claims. However, according to the report, this measure is part of the effort by the new FBI officials to fulfill promises to eradicate the "woke" movement within the agency.

The incident in Washington, DC came after a group of agents assigned to protect monuments and federal buildings clashed with a group of protesters. It occurred on the sidelines of protests called by the Black Lives Matter movement following Floyd's death. As could be captured in images, some of the FBI agents knelt in front of the protesters.

Kneeling, in the context of BLM protests, became a way through which to show support for the premises of the BLM movement. In the case of those individuals who are not part of the African-American community, it is a sort of assumption of racial guilt.

FBI Director Kash Patel said in February that there would no longer be a "two-tiered system of justice," but a "singular system of justice for all Americans."

"I promise you this: there will be accountability inside and outside the FBI, and we will do it through rigorous constitutional oversight starting this weekend," Patel concluded.
