After the government of Rodrigo Chaves and the Trump administration agreed to collaborate, 135 illegal immigrants of various nationalities that have been deported by the United States were transferred to Costa Rica by plane so that, in the coming days, they can be sent to their countries of origin.

Within the group of undocumented immigrants, there are citizens from Afghanistan, China, Russia, Iran, Armenia, Georgia, Vietnam, Jordan, Kazakhstan and Ghana. Of the 135 immigrants, 65 are minors.

Both Costa Rica and Panama are serving as a bridge for illegal migrants deported by the Trump administration to return to their countries of origin.

According to the agreement, undocumented immigrants will remain for a short time in the Latin American countries before they are transferred to their native countries.

Regarding the agreement between the United States and Costa Rica, President Chaves assured that "the process is fully funded" by Washington, D.C. More planes carrying illegal immigrants that have been deported by the Trump administration are expected to continue landing in San José, Costa Rica, in the coming days.
