The film industry is mourning the loss of famous Hollywood actor Ryan O’Neal, who passed away in Los Angeles at the age of 82. O’Neal, recognized for his unforgettable performances in films such as “Love Story” and “Paper Moon,” left an indelible mark on filmmaking.

Patrick O’Neal, son of the legendary artist, broke the unfortunate news this Friday through a statement on Instagram, where he assured that his father passed away peacefully “with his loving team by his side supporting him and loving him as he would us.”

The famous actor had been suffering various health problems for several decades. Between 2001 and 2006, he underwent treatment for leukemia, and although he managed to overcome it, a few years later, in 2012, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Ryan O’Neal was born on April 20, 1941, the son of a stage actress and a novelist and screenwriter. Although one of the artist’s first interests was boxing, that discipline led him to develop a physical appearance that helped him land roles on television. However, it was not until 1964 that he became well-known for his work in the soap opera “Peyton Place.”

Ryan O’Neal rose to fame with his role in “Love Story,” the highest-grossing film of 1970, which earned him an Oscar nomination and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
