An accident between a tanker truck and a tractor caused a large fire on US Highway 75 in Collin County, Texas. The situation caused the closure of the road and a major traffic jam. Plano Police affirmed that they are investigating the cause of the accident. However, they believe that the truck driver lost control for some reason and the other car overturned on its side.

"Until further notice, NB 75 at Parker Rd will be shut down due to a traffic accident resulting in a tractor-trailer fire. The cause of the crash is still being determined and the extent of injuries is unknown," said police.

Highway closures and major traffic jams

Reports from several journalists detailed that at least two people were injured in the incident. It was also ascertained that the firefighters decided let the fuel burn itself.

"We are simply letting it burn. It is the cleanest and easiest thing to do. If we start pouring water into it and then it drains into the sewer system, then we have to worry about the water becoming contaminated," explained Captain Michael Carr in remarks picked up by Fox4News.
