Authorities announced a substantial increase in the rewards to be awarded for providing useful information leading to the location of three leaders of the foreign terrorist organization Tren de Aragua.

The Department of State, through the Office of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs and in coordination with other federal agencies, announced that it will offer a total of $50 million for information on three criminals belonging to this terrorist group.

"The Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, in coordination with the FBI, DEA, and Department of Justice, is announcing new and increased reward offers totaling up to $50 million under the Transnational Organized Crime Rewards Program (TOCRP) for information leading to the arrests and/or convictions of the top three leaders of Tren de Aragua," the department wrote in a press release.

Specifically, the three terrorists are Yohan José Romero, also known as "Yohan Petrica," for whom a reward of $20 million is being offered instead of the $4 million previously offered; Giovanni Vicente Mosquera Serrano, nicknamed "Giovanni" or "El Viejo," for whom the U.S. will pay $15 million instead of $5 million; and Juan Gabriel Rivas Núñez, alias "Juancho," for whom another $15 million is being offered.

According to the State Department, Romero is "the current leader of TdA," responsible for directing all operations of the foreign terrorist organization, including drug trafficking, illegal gold mining in Venezuela, and the planning of murders, kidnappings and other serious crimes.

The other two are his right-hand man: Mosquera Serrano (who is on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list) oversees all Tren de Aragua operations in the United States, Colombia and Central America, while Rivas Núñez does the same in Venezuela.
