According to authorities, the shooting occurred in a bar area with a lot of nightlife. At the time of the attack, the street was crowded with people. According to the San Francisco Police Department's communications officer, a "street party" was taking place at the time. The police reported that evidence is being gathered as part of the investigation and that they are trying to assess whether the shots were fired from a car.
