The president made the announcement during the commemoration of the Navy’s 250th anniversary. UFC President Dana White announced an evening of mixed martial arts at the same venue to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

U.S. President Donald Trump, a longtime fan of combat sports, announced that the White House will host an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) event on June 14, 2026, his 80th birthday.

"On June 14 next year, we will have a big UFC fight at the White House," the Republican mogul said during a speech in Norfolk, Virginia, marking the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Navy. The president did not mention that the date coincides with his 80th birthday and the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army. This year, to celebrate that milestone, Trump organized a large military parade in Washington, D.C.

Dana White announced a fight at the White House for July 4

In August, UFC President Dana White said that a mixed martial arts bout would be held at the White House. The original date was July 4, which marks the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence.

Trump has frequently attended UFC bouts, known for their intensity and physicality, where fighters compete with punches, kicks, and submission techniques in a no-holds-barred battle inside the “Octagon,” an eight-sided ring enclosed by a metal fence.

Bringing this combat sport to the heart of national political power would be unprecedented.
